Wine Event Happenings in the Geneva/Vaud area
Spring is coming and so are some very interesting wine tasting events that I recommend you attend. Best of all, they are all free with an amazing selection of wines both from Switzerland and from around the globe.
La foire aux vins Coop
This is happening now through Sunday in Vevey!
Grande Place 1, 1800 Vevey
This a great event, free with your Coop supercard!
Most of the wines are available only online via Coop Mondovino.
MÖVENPICK Offres du printemps
At all Movenpick wine cellar locations throughout Switzerland.
This is a great event and store hours are extended on Wednesday through Friday until 20:00.
The wines on offer are some of the best new world wines available in Switzerland, many of which are not available outside of Movenpick cellars.
The selection includes wines from the US, South America, Australia and South Africa. You’ll find some bestsellers under 15 francs and special discounts also.
Some of my favorites will be available for tasting, like The Prisoner and Orin Swift wines from the US, Catena and Errazuriz from South America, Sons of Eden and Bremerton wines from Australia, and Lammershoek from South Africa!
The best thing is that it’s free of charge! Amazingly well done too. So find a cellar near you! I’ll be dropping in to the Bursins cellar.

FOIRE AUX VINS MÖVENPICK -Bursins Cellar
Friday, March 24 – 16h00 to 20h00
Saturday, March 25 – 11h00 to 17h00
This is my favorite Movenpick event of the year and not to be missed!
It is held in the Bursins Cellar warehouse and what makes it special is that there will be 24 wine producers from all over the world in attendance.
It is an opportunity to meet the winemakers themselves and have them discuss their wines and answer your questions in person. I learn so much at these wine fairs speaking with the winemakers one on one.
During the event, you will receive a 10% discount on any wines purchased from the wineries in attendance.
In addition, the Switzerland Wine School will be there as well offering free 20 minute wine courses throughout the two days, no reservations required.
Here’s a list of some of the wineries that will be attending:
Switzerland: Domaine La Colombe, Caveau de Salquenen
France: Frédéric Magnien, Château de Nages, Domaine Thunevin-Calvet
Italy: Michele Chiarlo, Frescobaldi, Cantine San Marzano
Spain: Finca Torremilanos, Vega Sicilia, Bodegas Mas Alta
South America: Viña Errázuriz, Catena Zapata
USA: Hess Collection, Orin Swift Cellars
Wow! And that’s only part of the list of 24!
