Swiss Wine Event Happenings in April

Spring is in the air and that means it’s going to be a busy month of wine tasting events in Switzerland! Here are some interesting events worth attending, pace yourselves!

These events include local wines as well as wines from around the globe.

MINI OPEN DOOR – Portes Ouvertes

Great opportunity to taste some fantastic Tuscan wines from the Vini Toscani personal selections with some new wines being introduced that you will not find elsewhere in the Vaud region.

Domaine de la Montardière

Tartegnin Pays du bon vin

Caves ouvertes de Printemps 2017

Vendredi 31 mars de 15h à 20h

Samedi et Dimanche 1 et 2 avril de 10h à 20h

This is a family run vineyard in the lovely village of Tartegnin along the route Vinoble near Rolle. They will be offering the newly bottled 2016 vintages for tasting. The family Munier arrived here in the 1500’s from Burgundy.

They have a large variety of wines from the standard white Chasselas to many varieties of red wines, including Pinot Noir, Gamaret, and even an assemblage of Syrah/Cabernet Franc as well as a rare Galotta, not commonly found in the region, all at very reasonable prices.

Worth a visit. Nice cozy tasting room, with meat and cheese plates offered. Great biking and hiking area with beautiful views of the vineyards, lake and mountains. Enjoy!

Salon Divinum 

Parc des Sports, Morges

April 5th-10th

This is a huge annual event, with over 120 exhibitors. Mostly Swiss winemakers from Vaud and Valais as well as wine sellers in the region of wines from around the world. Also, there is special honorary wine region invited, this year it is Sardinia. There will be wines and culinary delights from Sardinia available for tasting.

You will need a few days to cover all the exhibitors. A daily pass is 25 CHF for adults and if you are a serious wino, a six day pass is 90 CHF!

April 11th-15th

Passione Italiana! Free wine tasting event at your local Movenpick wine cellar.

An interesting collection of wines from various regions in Italy. A few new wines being introduced. Cantine San Marzano is one of the featured wineries, they have an interesting selection of various vintages with a good quality/price ratio. The 2012 Palmenti Vigne Vecchie Primitivo di Manduria is a favorite.

Discounts of 20-25% on some of the Italian wines on offer.

Printemps du vin – Salgesch, Valais

April 22nd


10:00-11:30 Course de barrique sur la place de l’école
11:30-12:00 Apéritif sur la place de l’école
11:30-18:00 Parcours de dégustation dans les caves de Salquenen

A fun event in Salgesch, located in scenic Valais, famous for their Pinot Noir. There is a wine barrel race followed by wine tasting in the local caves.

Admission is 23 CHF in advance and 25 CHF on the day of the event.

ARVINIS – Le Monde du Vin

April 26th-May 1st

Centre de congrès 2m2c, Avenue Claude-Nobs 5, 1820 Montreux

Another huge annual wine event held this year for the first time in Montreux. 200 exhibitors with quality wines from 5 continents. The honorary region this year being Piedmont in Italy, famous for their Barolos and Barbarescos.
